Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution.
  • Students appearing in the final year of their undergraduate programme may also register, subject to the applicable admission conditions.
  • Individual management institutes accepting MAT scores may prescribe separate requirements related to minimum marks, qualifying subjects or graduation status.
  • Candidates should check the admission criteria of their preferred participating institutes before applying.

Age Limit

  • AIMA generally does not prescribe a specific upper age limit for appearing in MAT.
  • Candidates must still satisfy any age-related or academic conditions fixed by the institution to which they seek admission.
  • Applicants should refer to the relevant MAT 2026 information bulletin for session-specific rules.

Fees

  • The MAT registration fee must be paid online during the application process.
  • The amount may differ depending on whether a candidate selects PBT only or combines it with another available test mode.
  • Applicable payment gateway or transaction charges may be added separately.
  • Candidates should confirm the current fee on mat.aima.in before making payment, as submitted fees are generally non-refundable.

Selection Process

  1. MAT 2026 Examination: Registered candidates appear for the Paper-Based Test at the allotted centre on the date and time shown on the admit card.
  2. Scorecard and Result: AIMA evaluates the responses and publishes the MAT scorecard online after the examination.
  3. Institute-Level Admission: Participating management institutes shortlist candidates using MAT scores and may conduct counselling, group discussion, written ability test or personal interview rounds under their own admission policies.

Qualifying MAT does not automatically guarantee admission. Final selection remains subject to the cut-off, seat availability and eligibility rules of the participating institution.
