The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) Mains timetable for candidates shortlisted through the preliminary examination. The recruitment drive aims to fill 262 vacancies across Assam government services, with the Main Examination scheduled at designated centres in Guwahati.

Candidates should check their roll numbers in the official list and download the e-admission certificate before appearing for the examination. No candidate will be permitted to enter the examination venue without a valid admit card and prescribed photo identification.

The roll-number list for candidates admitted provisionally to the Main Examination was scheduled to be published ahead of the test. The e-admission certificate was also made available separately through the APSC website. Candidates must use their registration credentials or examination details to download it.

The written examination will be conducted in Guwahati. Candidates should verify the exact venue, reporting time and examination instructions printed on their e-admission certificate. They are advised to reach the centre well before the reporting deadline.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a university established under central or state law in India.
  • Degrees awarded by institutions recognised under the University Grants Commission Act are also acceptable.
  • Candidates must possess the required qualification by the eligibility cut-off date stated in the detailed recruitment notification.
  • Applicants should be able to speak Assamese or another official, tribal or associate official language of Assam, subject to the applicable service rules.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 21 years.
  • Maximum age: 38 years, calculated on the prescribed cut-off date.
  • SC and ST candidates receive an upper-age relaxation of five years.
  • OBC/MOBC candidates receive an upper-age relaxation of three years.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities may receive relaxation of up to 10 years, subject to government rules.
  • Departmental and other eligible categories will receive relaxation where permitted under Assam government regulations.

Fees

  • General category: ₹297.20.
  • SC, ST, OBC and MOBC categories: ₹197.20.
  • BPL candidates: ₹47.20.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: ₹47.20.
  • Applicable processing and tax components are included in the stated amounts. Fees once paid are ordinarily non-refundable.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination: An objective screening test used to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination.
  2. Main Written Examination: Six descriptive papers covering essay writing and General Studies subjects. Performance in this stage contributes to the merit assessment.
  3. Interview/Personality Test: Candidates qualifying in the written examination are invited for an interview, followed by document verification and final allocation based on merit, eligibility and service preferences.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official APSC website and open the online recruitment portal from the relevant CCE advertisement page.
  2. Complete new-user registration using an active email address, mobile number and basic personal information.
  3. Log in and fill out the application form carefully, including educational qualifications, category, address and service-related details.
  4. Upload scanned copies of the photograph, signature and supporting certificates in the prescribed size and format.
  5. Pay the applicable examination fee online and submit the form before the closing date.
  6. Download the submitted application and fee receipt for future reference. The application window is now closed, so shortlisted candidates do not need to apply again for the Mains examination.
  7. To obtain the Mains admit card, open the e-admission certificate link on the APSC website, enter the requested credentials and print a clear copy. Candidates should immediately report any discrepancy to the commission’s helpdesk.
