Candidates must rely on the date and reporting time printed in the official schedule. Requests for a change in the verification date may not be accepted unless permitted by BPSC under exceptional circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Power Plant Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized university or institution.
  • Applicants must meet the relevant technical and practical experience requirements prescribed for appointment as a Boiler Inspector.
  • Experience may be required in areas such as the design, construction, erection, operation, testing, repair, maintenance or inspection of boilers.
  • Candidates must produce original degree certificates, mark sheets and experience records during document verification.
  • The detailed recruitment notification will prevail if there is any variation in branch nomenclature or experience requirements.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age is generally 21 years.
  • The upper age limit is ordinarily 37 years for unreserved male candidates.
  • Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable to women and BC, EBC, SC, ST and other eligible categories under Bihar government rules.
  • The prescribed cut-off date and category-wise age limits must be checked in the original recruitment advertisement.

Fees

  • General, unreserved and other-state candidates were required to pay the application fee prescribed by BPSC.
  • Concessional fees applied to eligible Bihar SC/ST candidates, women candidates and persons with benchmark disabilities.
  • Any bank, payment gateway or biometric charge was payable separately, where applicable.
  • The fee was non-refundable after successful submission of the application.

Selection Process

  1. Application Scrutiny/Shortlisting: BPSC examines educational qualifications, experience and other details submitted in the online application. A written examination may be conducted if required under the recruitment rules.
  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present their original certificates along with self-attested copies. Eligibility is confirmed only after successful verification.
  3. Interview and Final Merit: Eligible candidates may be called for an interview or further assessment, after which the final selection list will be prepared under the notified criteria.
