Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must possess a postgraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Economics from a recognised university or institution.
  • Candidates with equivalent qualifications should ensure that their degree meets the conditions stated in the detailed recruitment advertisement.
  • The required qualification must have been obtained by the eligibility cut-off date specified by BPSC.
  • Shortlisted candidates must produce original degree certificates, mark sheets and other supporting records during the interview and document-verification process.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age requirement is generally 21 years.
  • The upper age limit is 37 years for unreserved male candidates.
  • Relaxation in the upper age limit applies to women, BC/EBC, SC, ST, persons with benchmark disabilities and other eligible categories under Bihar government rules.
  • The relevant cut-off date for calculating age must be checked in the original recruitment notification.

Fees

  • General, OBC and candidates from outside Bihar: ₹600.
  • Bihar SC/ST candidates, eligible women candidates and persons with disabilities: ₹150.

  • The fee paid during the application process is generally non-refundable.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination: Candidates first appear in an objective-type screening examination conducted to shortlist applicants for the next stage.
  2. Main Written Examination: Candidates qualifying in the preliminary examination are called for the main examination, subject to the prescribed category-wise cut-off marks.
  3. Interview and Document Verification: Main-examination qualifiers attend the personality test. Final selection is based on the applicable written-examination and interview criteria, followed by verification of eligibility documents.

Appearance in the interview does not by itself guarantee appointment. Candidature may be cancelled if a candidate fails to establish educational, age, category or identity eligibility.
