Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Science (M.Sc.) or an equivalent degree in relevant subjects such as Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, and Mathematical Sciences.
- Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master's degree. Relaxation is applicable as per category norms.
- Candidates appearing in the final year of their Master's degree are also eligible to apply, subject to meeting the percentage criteria at the time of admission.
Age Limit
- For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum age is 28 years as of the last date of application. Upper age relaxation of up to 5 years is provided for SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, and women candidates.
- For Lectureship (LS): There is no upper age limit.
Fees
- General & EWS: ₹1,100
- OBC-NCL & EWS: ₹550
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹275

Selection Process
The selection process for CSIR NET consists of the following stages:
