Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Eligibility is post-specific and will be verified through original certificates during the DV process. Broad requirements include:

  • Staff Nurse: Candidates are generally required to have passed 10+2 and possess the prescribed nursing qualification, such as GNM or B.Sc Nursing, along with valid registration from the competent nursing council, wherever required.
  • Prosthetic Technician: Applicants must hold the relevant diploma or degree in prosthetics, orthotics or another qualification prescribed in the original advertisement.
  • Sanitary Inspector: Candidates should possess the specified academic qualification and a recognised diploma or certificate in sanitary inspection or public health, as applicable.
  • Qualifications for other posts will be governed by the relevant JKSSB recruitment notification.
  • Candidates must produce marks sheets, certificates, professional registration documents and equivalence certificates, where applicable.

Age Limit

  • The applicable age limit will be calculated with reference to the cut-off date mentioned in the original recruitment advertisement.
  • Upper-age relaxation is available for eligible reserved categories under the rules applicable in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Date-of-birth proof must match the details submitted in the online application.
  • Candidates should carry a valid category certificate if claiming reservation or age relaxation.

Fees

  • No separate fee is normally required merely for attending Document Verification.
  • The recruitment application fee was payable at the time of submitting the original online form.
  • Any fee details must be checked against the relevant post-wise recruitment advertisement.

Selection Process

The selection procedure generally includes the following stages:

  1. Written Examination: Candidates are assessed through the examination prescribed for the relevant post and advertisement.
  2. Shortlisting or Merit List: Applicants are shortlisted on the basis of examination performance, applicable reservation rules and the notified selection criteria.
  3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present original documents to establish their educational qualification, age, domicile, category, professional registration and other eligibility claims.

Participation in DV does not by itself guarantee final selection. Appointment remains subject to verification of eligibility, document authenticity, merit position and completion of other formalities prescribed by JKSSB.
