Overview

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the Karnataka NEET UG 2026 Round 2 seat allotment update for candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses. Applicants can check their allotment status, review the updated vacant seat matrix and complete the required online formalities at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English from a recognised board.
  • Applicants must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and obtained the applicable minimum percentile for their category.
  • Candidates must be registered for Karnataka NEET UG counselling and must satisfy KEA's document-verification requirements.
  • Participation in Round 2 is subject to the applicable counselling rules, including the candidate's Round 1 allotment status, fee payment and choice submitted.
  • Karnataka domicile, study, linguistic minority, religious minority and reservation claims must be supported by valid certificates wherever applicable.

Age Limit

  • The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2026.
  • Any upper-age requirement or relaxation will be governed by the prevailing NEET UG, National Medical Commission and counselling regulations.
  • Candidates should check the official information bulletin for category-specific conditions.

Fees

  • No separate Round 2 fee amount is specified in the available update.
  • Candidates may have to pay the prescribed counselling, admission, security or tuition fee, depending on their allotment status and seat category.
  • Government, private, minority, NRI and other quota seats may carry different fee structures.
  • Payments should be made only through the method provided on the official KEA portal, and the receipt should be downloaded for reference.

Selection Process

  1. NEET UG merit and eligibility: Admission is based on the candidate's NEET UG 2026 rank, category, eligibility and the seat type for which the candidate is entitled.
  2. Option entry and seat allotment: KEA processes the choices in the order saved by candidates, subject to merit, reservation rules and seat availability. Candidates should place their most preferred college and course combinations higher in the list.
  3. Acceptance and reporting: Allotted candidates must select the applicable post-allotment choice, pay the required fee, download the admission order and report to the institution within the notified deadline.

Candidates who already hold a Round 1 seat should carefully review the upgradation rules. If a higher-preference seat is allotted in Round 2, the earlier seat may be cancelled automatically. Those who do not receive an upgraded seat may retain their Round 1 allotment only if permitted under the applicable choice and counselling rules.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the KEA portal at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in and open the UGNEET 2026 counselling section.
  2. Select the link for the Round 2 seat allotment result, option entry or updated vacancy matrix, as applicable.
  3. Log in using the required credentials, such as the CET number, NEET roll number, application number or password.
  4. Download the updated vacant seat matrix and check available MBBS or BDS seats by college, category, quota and course.
  5. Open the option-entry page if editing is permitted. Add, delete or reorder choices according to preference rather than vacancy alone.
  6. Save the options after every change and verify the final order before the deadline. Take a printout or screenshot of the submitted list.
  7. To check the result, open the allotment link and enter the requested credentials. Download the allotment letter for future use.
  8. Follow the displayed instructions for choice selection, fee payment, document submission and college reporting. Missing a deadline can result in cancellation of the allotted seat.
  9. Candidates with a Round 1 seat should confirm whether their selected option allows retention, upgradation, surrender or participation in subsequent rounds.
