  • Applicants may also be required to possess basic computer knowledge and the typing skills necessary for clerical duties.
  • The qualification must be completed by the eligibility cut-off date mentioned in the detailed recruitment advertisement.
  • Candidates should check the post-specific notification before applying, as the commission’s final eligibility conditions will prevail.

Age Limit

  • The minimum and maximum age limits will be confirmed in the detailed Meghalaya PSC LDA recruitment notification.
  • Age will be calculated as of the cut-off date specified by the commission.
  • Relaxation in the upper age limit is expected to be available for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, persons with benchmark disabilities and other eligible categories under Meghalaya government rules.
  • Documentary proof will be required from candidates claiming age relaxation.

Fees

  • The category-wise application or examination fee has not yet been announced.
  • Payment, where applicable, is expected to be accepted through the online facilities listed on the application portal.
  • Candidates must retain the payment receipt or transaction reference number until the recruitment process is completed.
  • Fee exemptions or concessions will be governed by the detailed notification.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination: Candidates will take papers covering General English and General Awareness and Aptitude. General English preparation should include grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, comprehension, précis writing and correct usage. General Awareness and Aptitude may include current affairs, Indian history, geography, polity, economics, Meghalaya-related knowledge, arithmetic, reasoning and data interpretation. The commonly indicated structure is 100 marks for General English and 150 marks for General Awareness and Aptitude, with candidates advised to confirm the final duration and marking rules from the exam notice.
  2. Skill or Typing Test: Shortlisted candidates may be asked to demonstrate typing speed, accuracy and basic computer proficiency where prescribed for the LDA post. The commission will separately specify whether this stage is qualifying or carries marks.
  3. Document Verification: Candidates clearing the required stages will have to produce original educational certificates, age proof, category certificates, identity documents and other records. Final selection will depend on merit, eligibility and successful verification.

Candidates should also check whether negative marking applies before attempting the written examination. Preparing from previous question papers and taking timed mock tests can help improve speed across both language and aptitude sections.
