Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from a university or institution recognised under the applicable dental education regulations.
  • Applicants must have completed, or be due to complete, the required 12-month compulsory rotating internship by the cut-off date prescribed for NEET MDS 2026 admissions.
  • A valid registration certificate from the Dental Council of India or the relevant State Dental Council is required, subject to the counselling rules.
  • Candidates must have appeared for NEET MDS 2026 and secured the applicable qualifying percentile or revised qualifying cut-off.
  • Eligibility for Round 2 will also depend on the candidate’s status in the earlier counselling round. Those who joined, resigned, were not allotted a seat or did not participate must follow the rules stated in the current MCC counselling scheme.

Age Limit

  • MCC generally does not prescribe a separate upper age limit for MDS counselling beyond the eligibility conditions applicable to the examination and course.
  • Candidates must satisfy all regulatory, internship and registration requirements by the notified cut-off date.
  • Any category-specific or institutional condition must be checked in the official counselling bulletin.

Fees

  • Candidates may have to pay a non-refundable registration fee based on their category and the type of institution selected.
  • A refundable security deposit may also apply for All India Quota, central university or deemed university counselling.
  • The exact fee amount will be displayed on the MCC portal during registration and must be paid online through an available payment method.
  • Bank or payment gateway charges, if applicable, may be collected separately.

Selection Process

  1. NEET MDS merit: Admission eligibility and ranking will be based on the candidate’s NEET MDS 2026 score, rank and qualifying status.
  2. Choice filling and seat allotment: Candidates must submit and lock preferences for eligible colleges and courses. Allotment will consider rank, category, seat availability and choices entered.
  3. Document verification and reporting: Shortlisted candidates must download the allotment letter, report to the assigned institution within the deadline and complete document verification, fee payment and admission formalities.
