Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should have passed the Class 10/Matriculation examination under the 10+2 system from a recognised board.
  • A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Class 10 is generally required for apprentice engagement, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
  • Applicants must hold an ITI certificate in the relevant notified trade from an institute recognised by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
  • The ITI trade must correspond to the trade selected in the online application.
  • Candidates awaiting their qualifying examination results should check whether they are eligible before applying. The required qualifications must ordinarily be completed by the prescribed cut-off date.

Age Limit

  • The expected minimum age is 15 years.
  • The expected upper age limit is 24 years as on the cut-off date specified by RRC NCR.
  • Upper-age relaxation is generally available to SC, ST, OBC, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and other eligible categories under applicable government rules.
  • The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation certificate will normally be used for age verification.
  • Candidates must consult the notification PDF for the exact cut-off date and category-wise relaxation provisions.

Fees

  • Application fee: ₹100, where applicable.
  • SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates are generally exempt from paying the application fee.
  • Any applicable bank or online transaction charges may have to be paid separately.
  • The fee must be paid through the online payment options available on the application portal. Candidates should verify the final fee structure in the official notice.

Selection Process

  1. Merit List: Candidates are expected to be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in Class 10 and the relevant ITI trade. No separate written examination or interview is generally conducted for Act Apprentice recruitment.
  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted applicants will be required to produce original educational certificates, ITI documents, category certificates, identity proof and other prescribed records.
  3. Medical Examination: Final engagement will be subject to the candidate meeting the medical fitness standards applicable to railway apprentices.

Mere inclusion in a merit list does not guarantee apprenticeship engagement. Candidature may be cancelled if the information entered in the application does not match the original documents.
