Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
  • Candidates possessing an integrated dual degree must ensure that the date of passing meets the eligibility cut-off specified by SBI.
  • Final-year or final-semester students may apply only if permitted under the detailed notification and must produce proof of passing by the prescribed date.
  • Applicants must be able to read, write, speak and understand the specified local language of the state or Union Territory for which they apply.
  • Candidates should select the state and examination language carefully because changes may not be allowed after final submission.

Age Limit

  • The standard age requirement for SBI Junior Associate recruitment is 20 to 28 years, calculated on the cut-off date given in the notification.
  • SC and ST candidates are generally eligible for an upper-age relaxation of five years.
  • OBC candidates from the non-creamy layer are generally eligible for a relaxation of three years.
  • PwBD candidates may receive an age relaxation of 10 to 15 years, depending on their category.
  • Ex-servicemen, widows, divorced women and other eligible groups will receive relaxation under applicable government and SBI rules.

Fees

  • General, OBC and EWS: ₹750, including intimation charges.
  • SC, ST, PwBD, ESM and DESM: No application fee, subject to the official notification.
  • Payment must be made online using the available debit card, credit card, internet banking or other supported options.
  • Application fees, once paid, are normally non-refundable and cannot be reserved for another examination.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination: The first stage is expected to include objective questions from English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Candidates must qualify for shortlisting to the main examination.
  2. Main Examination: Shortlisted applicants will take the main examination covering General or Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude. Final merit is generally based on main-examination marks.
  3. Local Language Test and Document Verification: Candidates who did not study the selected local language in Class 10 or Class 12 may have to clear a language proficiency test. Appointment is subject to document verification and satisfaction of all eligibility requirements.
