Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants for SSC JHT and related translation posts generally need to meet one of the following qualification combinations:

  • A master's degree from a recognised university in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or as the medium of examination at the degree level.
  • A master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or as the medium of examination at the degree level.
  • A master's degree in any subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject, or vice versa, at the degree level.
  • Candidates may also need a recognised diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and English to Hindi, or relevant translation experience, depending on the post.
  • Final eligibility will be assessed using the post-wise requirements contained in the official recruitment notification.

Age Limit

  • The usual age range for SSC JHT recruitment is 18 to 30 years as on the cut-off date specified in the notification.
  • Age relaxation is generally available to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories under Central Government rules.
  • Candidates must check the detailed notice for the exact cut-off date and category-wise relaxation provisions.

Fees

  • The standard application fee is generally ₹100 for candidates required to pay the examination fee.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official Staff Selection Commission portal at ssc.gov.in.
