Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have passed the Class 10 or High School examination from a recognised education board.
  • Candidates must possess the required educational certificate by the eligibility cut-off date specified in the detailed recruitment notification.
  • Applicants should satisfy the domicile, character and other service-related conditions prescribed for Home Guard recruitment in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Original certificates will be checked during the document verification stage.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age for applicants is 18 years.
  • The upper age limit is 30 years, calculated as of the date specified in the recruitment notification.
  • Age relaxation is applicable to eligible reserved-category candidates under Uttar Pradesh government rules.
  • The date of birth recorded in the matriculation certificate will normally be used for age verification.

Fees

  • General, OBC and EWS candidates: Rs. 400.
  • SC and ST candidates: Rs. 300.
  • Applicable online payment or service charges may be collected separately.
  • Candidates should retain the payment receipt and application confirmation page for future reference.

Selection Process

The recruitment process is expected to include the following stages:

  1. Written Examination: Candidates are assessed through an objective examination covering the subjects and syllabus prescribed by UPPRPB.
  2. Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test: Shortlisted candidates must meet the required physical measurements and complete the prescribed running or efficiency test within the stipulated time.
  3. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Successful candidates are required to produce original certificates and satisfy the prescribed medical fitness standards before final selection.

Candidates must qualify at every applicable stage. Merely receiving a PET admit card does not guarantee appointment to a Home Guard post.

  1. Visit the UPPRPB website at uppbpb.gov.in using a secure browser.
  2. Open the recruitment or admit card section displayed on the homepage.
  3. Select the link titled UP Home Guard PET Admit Card 2026.
  4. Enter the registration number or application number, date of birth and any displayed security code.
  5. Submit the details and verify the candidate’s name, photograph, roll number, PET venue, date and reporting time.
  6. Download the admit card PDF and print at least two clear copies. Candidates should also save a digital copy on their phone or email.
  7. Carry the printed hall ticket, an original photo identity document and any other item listed in the instructions to the test centre.

If the hall ticket contains an incorrect name, photograph, category or other personal detail, candidates should contact the board through the official helpdesk without waiting for the PET date. Entry may be denied to candidates who report late or fail to produce the required documents.
