Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must possess a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university or institution.
  • Candidates must meet any subject-specific qualification prescribed for the Lecturer post, including requirements related to the subject studied at the graduate level.
  • A B.Ed. degree or equivalent teaching qualification may be required for applicable subjects under the recruitment rules.
  • Candidates appearing in the mains examination must have qualified for the relevant stage and fulfilled the eligibility conditions claimed in their online application.
  • Original academic certificates will be checked during document verification. Admission to the examination remains provisional until eligibility is verified.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 21 years.
  • Maximum age: 40 years, calculated on the cut-off date specified in the recruitment notification.
  • Age relaxation is applicable to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC and other eligible categories of Uttar Pradesh under state government rules.
  • Candidates should retain supporting certificates for any age-relaxation claim.

Fees

  • General, OBC and EWS candidates: ₹125.
  • SC and ST candidates: ₹65.
  • Persons with Disabilities: ₹25.
  • Any applicable processing or portal charges were payable through the prescribed online payment facility during the application period.

Selection Process

The UPPSC GIC Lecturer recruitment process is expected to include the following stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: An objective-type screening examination used to shortlist candidates for the mains stage.
  2. Main Examination: Shortlisted candidates appear in the subject-specific written examination at the venue and time stated on the admit card.
  3. Document Verification and Final Selection: Candidates qualifying in the mains examination are called for verification of educational, category, age and identity documents before preparation of the final merit list.
