Candidates should check the date, reporting time, examination shift and venue printed on their individual admit cards. Entry may be closed before the scheduled start of the examination, so applicants should reach the centre well in advance.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • For the Army Wing of the National Defence Academy, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
  • For the Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Applicants for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy must also have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12.
  • Candidates who were appearing in the qualifying Class 12 examination were eligible to apply subject to meeting the prescribed documentary requirements.

Age Limit

  • Only unmarried male and female candidates within the age bracket specified by UPSC are eligible.
  • For NDA 2 2026, applicants are expected to have been born between January 2, 2008 and January 1, 2011, inclusive, subject to confirmation in the official notice.
  • Date of birth must match the candidate’s matriculation or secondary school certificate.
  • Candidates must also satisfy the prescribed nationality, marital status and physical fitness conditions.

Fees

  • General, OBC and other non-exempt candidates were required to pay an application fee of ₹100.
  • Female candidates and eligible SC/ST candidates were exempt from paying the examination fee.
  • Eligible wards of serving or former Junior Commissioned Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks studying in designated military or Sainik schools were also eligible for exemption under the applicable rules.
  • There is no separate fee for downloading the admit card.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination: Candidates will take objective papers in Mathematics and the General Ability Test. Negative marking applies to incorrect answers under the examination rules.
  2. SSB Interview: Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the Services Selection Board intelligence and personality assessment, including psychological tests, group tasks and interviews.
  3. Medical Examination and Final Merit: Recommended candidates must pass the prescribed medical standards. Final selection will depend on merit, eligibility verification, medical fitness and the availability of vacancies.

How to Apply

The online application period has closed. Registered candidates can obtain their NDA 2 hall ticket by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
  2. Open the section for Examinations or E-Admit Cards on the homepage.
  3. Select the link titled NDA and NA Examination (II), 2026 E-Admit Card.
  4. Read the displayed instructions carefully and accept the declaration to proceed.
  5. Choose either the Registration ID or Roll Number login option.
  6. Enter the required login details, date of birth and security code.
  7. Submit the information and verify the name, photograph, roll number, examination centre and reporting time shown on the hall ticket.
  8. Download the PDF and print a clear copy for use on the examination day. UPSC does not generally send a paper admit card by post.

Candidates should promptly contact the commission if the admit card contains an error or if their photograph is unclear. They should also read the prohibited-items instructions before visiting the centre. Mobile phones, smartwatches, electronic devices and study material are not permitted inside the examination venue.
