Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates should have passed Class 10 or High School from a recognised board or hold an equivalent qualification.
- Applicants possessing Class 12, diploma, graduate or higher qualifications may also register, subject to the conditions in the detailed notification.
- Passing PET does not automatically make a candidate eligible for every UPSSSC recruitment. The educational and technical qualifications prescribed for the relevant post must also be fulfilled.
- Candidates must provide accurate academic details because original certificates may be checked during the post-specific selection process.
Age Limit
- The general minimum age is expected to be 18 years.
- The general upper age limit is expected to be 40 years, calculated on the cut-off date specified in the detailed notification.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit will apply to SC, ST, OBC and other eligible categories in accordance with Uttar Pradesh government rules.

Selection Process
- Preliminary Eligibility Test: Registered candidates appear for the objective-type PET examination. The score is used to shortlist applicants for eligible Group C recruitment drives.
- Post-specific examination or skill test: Shortlisted candidates may be called for a main written examination, typing test, physical test, skill test or another assessment, depending on the post.
- Document verification and final selection: Candidates clearing all prescribed stages must produce original documents. Medical examination may also be required for certain posts before the final appointment.
The PET paper generally contains 100 objective questions for 100 marks, with a duration of two hours. A penalty of one-fourth mark is generally applied for each incorrect response. Candidates should verify the final pattern and syllabus from the official notification.

Candidates whose applications have already been accepted do not need to apply again merely because the examination schedule has changed. They should download the updated admit card or examination instructions when published.
