Overview

The High Court of Delhi has announced the Stage-II Mains (Descriptive) examination date for the Junior Judicial Assistant (JJA)/Restorer (Open) Examination 2026. As per Notice No. 83/Exams-NJ/DHC dated September 8, 2026, the examination for 60 vacancies will be conducted on October 4, 2026, at centres in Delhi-NCR.

Only candidates shortlisted through the Stage-I preliminary examination will be eligible to appear for the descriptive paper. Detailed reporting time, examination centre and candidate-specific instructions are expected to be communicated through the admit card.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognised university or institution.
  • Applicants must possess the computer typing proficiency prescribed in the detailed recruitment notification.
  • For the typing stage, candidates are generally required to demonstrate an English typing speed of at least 35 words per minute on a computer.
  • Educational qualifications and supporting documents must have been obtained by the cut-off date stated in the original recruitment advertisement.

Age Limit

  • The standard age requirement is generally 18 to 27 years as on the cut-off date specified in the detailed notification.
  • Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, persons with benchmark disabilities, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories under the relevant rules.
  • Candidates should verify their exact age eligibility from the original recruitment advertisement, as the Stage-II examination notice does not modify the eligibility conditions.

Fees

  • General, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates: ₹1,000.
  • SC, ST and eligible PwBD candidates: ₹800.
  • Applicable payment gateway or bank transaction charges may be payable separately.
  • No fresh fee is required merely for appearing in Stage-II unless specifically directed by the High Court of Delhi.

Selection Process

  1. Stage-I Preliminary Examination: An objective-type screening examination used to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
  2. Stage-II Mains and Typing Test: Shortlisted candidates appear for the descriptive examination, followed by a qualifying English typing test on a computer, where applicable.
  3. Interview and Final Selection: Candidates qualifying the prescribed stages are called for an interview. Final appointment is subject to merit, document verification, eligibility checks and other required formalities.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the High Court of Delhi’s official website at delhihighcourt.nic.in and open the recruitment or public notices section.
  2. Locate the Junior Judicial Assistant/Restorer (Open) Examination recruitment page and read the detailed advertisement before proceeding. The original application process was conducted online; the Stage-II notice does not invite fresh applications.
  3. Registered candidates should log in using their application number, registered email address or other credentials to check their status and download the Stage-II admit card when released.
  4. Verify the candidate’s name, roll number, examination date, reporting time, test centre and photograph printed on the admit card. Any discrepancy should be reported promptly through the official channel.
  5. Print the admit card and carry it to the examination centre along with an accepted original photo identity document. Candidates should also follow all instructions concerning permitted stationery and prohibited electronic devices.
  6. Reach the assigned Delhi-NCR examination centre well before the reporting deadline on October 4, 2026. Entry may not be permitted after the gate-closing time stated on the admit card.
