The Railway Recruitment Cell, East Central Railway has released the GDCE Recruitment 2026 notification for 1,465 vacancies across multiple technical and non-technical posts. The recruitment drive covers Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician, Junior Engineer, Goods Train Manager, Station Master, Section Controller and other positions through the General Departmental Competitive Examination.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Educational requirements differ according to the post selected. Applicants should review the post-wise eligibility conditions before completing the online form.

  • Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician: Candidates generally need to have passed Class 10 and possess an ITI certificate, Course Completed Act Apprenticeship or an approved diploma in the relevant trade or engineering discipline, as prescribed for the post.
  • Junior Engineer: A diploma or degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised institution is required, subject to the specifications given in the detailed notification.
  • Station Master, Goods Train Manager and Section Controller: Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution where graduation is prescribed.
  • Candidates must be regular employees of East Central Railway or Rail Wheel Plant, Bela and should satisfy the applicable service, departmental and medical conditions.
  • RPF and RPSF personnel are not eligible under this GDCE recruitment exercise.

  1. Computer-Based Test: Applicants will appear for a post-specific CBT assessing relevant technical subjects, general awareness, mathematics, reasoning and other prescribed areas.
