Eligibility Criteria

The examination-date press note primarily concerns rescheduling and does not revise the recruitment eligibility conditions. Applicants must satisfy the requirements given in the original Assistant Professor recruitment advertisement.

Educational Qualification

  • A master’s degree in Sociology from a recognised university or institution is generally required for the Assistant Professor post.
  • Candidates should have obtained the minimum percentage of marks prescribed in the detailed advertisement, subject to relaxation for eligible reserved categories.
  • Applicants may also be required to have qualified NET, SET or SLET, unless exempted under the applicable University Grants Commission regulations.
  • Candidates claiming exemption on the basis of a PhD must fulfil the conditions prescribed in the recruitment rules and original notification.
  • Final eligibility will be determined through scrutiny of academic records and supporting certificates.

Age Limit

  • The minimum and maximum age limits will be those specified in the original HPPSC recruitment advertisement.
  • Age will be calculated with reference to the cut-off date mentioned in that advertisement.
  • Upper-age relaxation may apply to candidates belonging to reserved categories, former service personnel and other eligible groups under Himachal Pradesh government rules.
  • Applicants must produce valid category and age-relaxation certificates during verification.

Fees

  • The application or examination fee is payable according to the candidate’s category and the rates stated in the original advertisement.
  • Fee concessions or exemptions will apply only to eligible categories under the notified rules.
  • Candidates should retain their online payment receipt and submitted application form for future reference.
  • The revised examination date does not ordinarily require payment of any additional fee.

Selection Process

The recruitment process may include the following stages, subject to the detailed HPPSC scheme:
