Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- PGT: Candidates should generally hold a relevant postgraduate degree with the prescribed marks, along with B.Ed or an equivalent recognized teacher-training qualification. Subject combinations must comply with the recruitment notification.
- TGT: A bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject or subject combination is required, along with B.Ed or an approved integrated teacher-education qualification. CTET Paper II may be mandatory where specified.
- PRT: Candidates should have passed Senior Secondary or its equivalent with the required percentage and possess D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed or another recognized elementary teacher-education qualification. CTET Paper I may also be required.
- Degrees, diplomas and teacher-training certificates must be issued by recognized institutions. Candidates must produce original documents during verification.
Age Limit
- The usual upper age limit is 40 years for PGT, 35 years for TGT and 30 years for PRT, subject to the detailed post-wise rules.
- Age will be calculated with reference to the cut-off date specified in the original recruitment notification.
- Relaxation is available to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories under Central Government rules.
