Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised university or institution.
  • The prescribed qualification must have been acquired by the eligibility cut-off date mentioned in CEN 06/2025.
  • Candidates awaiting their final degree results as of the prescribed date are not eligible unless they can establish that the qualification was completed on time.
  • Typing proficiency is required for posts such as Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist and Senior Clerk-cum-Typist at the relevant selection stage.
  • Candidates must satisfy any post-specific medical standards and suitability requirements.

Age Limit

  • The general age range for graduate-level NTPC posts is 18 to 33 years, subject to the date specified in the detailed notification.
  • OBC-NCL candidates are generally eligible for three years of upper-age relaxation.
  • SC and ST candidates are generally eligible for five years of upper-age relaxation.
  • PwBD, ex-servicemen, railway employees and other notified groups receive relaxation under applicable government rules.
  • Date-of-birth details must match the candidate's Class 10 certificate or equivalent official record.

Fees

  • General, OBC and EWS candidates: ₹500.
  • SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen, women, transgender, minority and economically backward class candidates: ₹250.
  • A prescribed portion of the examination fee is refundable after candidates appear in the first-stage CBT, subject to bank charges and RRB rules.
  • Payment was accepted online through the options available on the application portal.

Selection Process

  1. Computer-Based Tests: Candidates first appear for CBT 1, followed by CBT 2 after meeting the RRB-wise and category-wise shortlisting cut-off.
  2. Skill or Aptitude Test: Depending on the post, shortlisted candidates may have to take the Computer-Based Aptitude Test or Typing Skill Test. Qualifying requirements for these stages are post-specific.
  3. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to verification of original certificates, eligibility, category claims and prescribed railway medical fitness standards.

For CBT 2, RRBs publish separate cut-offs for categories such as UR, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST. Meeting minimum qualifying marks does not automatically guarantee shortlisting, as the actual cut-off can be higher depending on merit and available posts.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the central RRB application portal or the official website of the relevant regional Railway Recruitment Board.
  2. Open the recruitment section and select CEN 06/2025 – NTPC Graduate-Level Recruitment.

  4. Enter personal, educational, category and communication details exactly as recorded in official documents.
